After the great success we achieved in the context of Overdrive hacking conference, we noticed that Catalonia was responding in a very positive and open way to the project of establishing good relationships for investment, cooperation and research transfer with other regions and communities.
So we decided to take a step forward and take things to the next level.
Cyberweek is an event that lasts for a week and takes place in Girona every three years focused on enabling and promoting scientific research between foreign universities, Spanish universities and companies.
Before each edition, we gather and perform a deep analysis on what technologies and scientific disciplines we think are going to make a deep impact in the Catalan economy, we select three of them and we start the process of contacting world class experts in the field for inviting them to spend a week in Girona.
Once gathered we start conversations with local universities and companies after that we set up different activities such as panels and round tables, talks and networking dinners with the clear goal of creating a positive and productive scenario for those relations to happen.
During the last edition we chose Financial technologies “Fintech”, new methods and technologies in the industry “4.0 Industry” and computer security. We had the change to gather participants from countries such as the UK, France, USA, China, Russia, Israel and Canada.
